A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…

D’oh!…

Just a moment ago in a table near the kitchen…

STAR WARS : COMMANDER

(enter John Williams music)

I decided to write a blog about Disney/Star Wars’ mobile RTS game after I recently upgraded my Headquarters to Level 9, which I think is the penultimate stage of completion. I estimated back in October 2014, that Disney would go to a minimum of HQ level 10 before the release of Star Wars: Episode VII:The Force Awakens. The film opens in theaters on December 18, 2015. It’s just May, yeah! May the 4th Be With You!  This is an ongoing series of topics which I would to share to fellow SWC gamers in the community, and those who just play this multi-player game solo.

Overall, my experience with the game was actually good. Well, good but not good enough to merit the praise of similar Freemium games available in Android Playstore.iOS games .  It is just too difficult to call it “very good”.  There are many reasons why I say this as I’ve been playing the game since September 2014 and so far the best months of  game development and updates were also difficult to pinpoint. But I’m not complaining either. This is basically a free game wherein you spend hours and hours of attacking/defending/looting/baiting rival bases. It’s a classic good vs bad. Light Side vs Dark Side.  Rebel vs Empire. Lose vs Win. Win vs Lose.

But you know what?  I actually did enjoy it. Fun times with your own squad members. Strategy discussions, tactical analysis, troop donations to help each other out… It’s really fun especially if you have a group of merry rebels striving hard to overthrow the evil Galactic Empire.  At least for me, as I’ve chosen to side with the Rebel faction since day 1. After the fun times there comes to a point where you really need to rethink why you even play the game. Well, any game for that matter there will be that moment where you feel you just need to stop for a minute and realize…”IT’S JUST A GAME”.

But hey! I’m a Star Wars Fan!

I will always be happy to experience this truly wonderful, exciting and challenging game. I hope to continue playing this game until I see the next film of the franchise. Even on Low-Activity mode, I’ll still go on and check out my base once in a while.

I’ll be writing about my reasons why I decided to go low on my next SWC blog.

Next, some of my current in-game details and simple methods on how I survived being in one of the top squads in the global Android/IOS leader board.

After that, I’m gonna go back in time to retrace the steps on how and why I enjoyed… at the same time got frustrated…and all the while, felt challenged with this game.

‘Til next time.

May The Force Be With You!
